Broomstick Mile

Athletic background growing up:
I was on a jump rope team named the Bouncing Bears in elementary and middle school – does that count?  🤣 We learned tricks and performed at local events. It did give me an unfair advantage on double unders. I have been doing them since 3rd grade.

How long have you been doing CF?
I started CrossFit in 2013 at a small garage gym in Indiana. It was a small group that went there, probably 12-15 members. I had a friend talk me into it while we were at a wine fest. It’s still the best drunk decision I have ever made.

When did you start Droogs?
I started Droogs in July of 2018, shortly after I moved to Florida. One of the things I was most sad about leaving in Indiana was my gym. We were a close group and I considered them family. I was certain that I would not find that in Florida. Droogs has proven me wrong. I’m now lucky enough to have two gym families. One in Indiana, and one here in Florida.

Before I started this journey 7 years ago, CrossFit was entirely out of my comfort zone. I had never touched a barbell before and had no athletic background. CrossFit has taught me so much, it’s motivating, challenging, and has made me feel stronger and healthier than I have my entire life. I’m so thankful for CrossFit Droogs. I love the coaches, the workouts, the atmosphere and the most of all, the people. I’m thankful to be part of such an wonderful community. ❤️ 

I call her my “Trusty Becky” I can ALWAYS count on her to show up in the weee hours of the morning… I think if I even asked her to wake up at 4 am just so I could have a workout partner she would do it! She’s a great friend, a good listener, a great athlete and CrossFit Droogs is lucky to have her!

-FRI NIGHT: Mar 20th: LADIES NIGHT OUT- Yoga at Sunset with Dana Khazendar. 6pm @ Fred Howard Park. Join us and bring wine/drinks in a cup if you wish 🙂  

-Sat. Mar 28th: Bring a Friend Team WOD @9am (Someone you think would like to try us out and see what we’re all about) 

-Sat. APRIL 4TH- CrossFit Droogs 4 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! We will be Celebrating with a mini in-house throwdown + BBQ
