9/11 Tribute

The “Tribute in Light” memorial is in remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001, in honor of the citizens who lost their lives in the World Trade Center attacks. The two towers of light are composed of two banks of high wattage spotlights that point straight up from a lot next to Ground Zero. The ÒTribute in LightÓ memorial was first held in March 2002. In the design, the WOD symbolizes the events that occurred on September 11, 2001:

  • The date and year are represented by the Run (2001 meters) and the 9 movements each include 11 repetitions.
  • The 125-pound Thrusters represent the number of deaths from the Pentagon from plane number three.
  • The 170-pound Power Clean symbolizes American Airlines Flight 175 that collided with the South Tower
  • Flight 77 and Flight 93 are combined and represented in the 170-pound Deadlift
  • The 110-pound Push Jerk signifies the number of floors in each of the Twin Towers

Saturday, September 19th: BRING A FRIEND SATURDAY @9am. This is only for friends/family that you think may be interested in giving us a try and has never tried CrossFit before. You will need to make sure you are both on the schedule so we can plan the class accordingly. If your friend/family member ends up joining, you will receive 50% your next months dues.

Saturday, October 24th:Barbells 4 Boobs @ 9am Followed by a “Mini Brunch get together” This will be a Team WOD. We will have a sign up to pre-order for a t-shirt/tank soon. 

Saturday, October 31st: Come dressed for your WOD in your best Halloween Costume! 

Thursday, November 26th: Come join us for the Turkey Trot 5K @ Clearwater High School. If they don’t end up having one this year we will make our own 🙂
